Subsequently, I received a threatening email stating my account was suspended, and I needed to pay $150, which I again negotiated down to $100.
When it came to withdrawing the cryptocurrency, they instructed me to create an account with a crypto wallet where my funds would be transferred. I did, but I had no idea how to withdraw the funds. Another email arrived demanding a payment of $3500, at which point I refused to comply further. They attempted their usual tactics of shaming, manipulation, reducing the price, and persuasion, but I blocked them on all contacts. I even rejected follow requests from their associates.
In total, I shared with them my email address, name, and physical address and lost $475. I decided to cut my losses and cease all interaction. I recognize that I’m fortunate, as others have lost much more in similar situations.
