The bank advises customers to forward the SMS to its Hoax Team at 0497-132-032 before deleting it.
“Thank you for informing us about this. You are right; it seems to be a scam text intended to get personal information. Could you please submit this to 0497132032 so that our Hoax Team can investigate and delete the text? I hope this was helpful!” – a statement from Westpac’s Twitter account said when a fraudulent message was reported.
