OskarBit Review: Another Network of Cryptocurrency Scams

Welcome to our OskarBit review in which we investigate the website found at OksarBit.com.

On December 21, 2022, the following complaint regarding a cryptocurrency scam was filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) by a person from Wisconsin, USA:

The company reached out to me on Discord and said i won a bunch of Ethereum (or a type of bitcoin) and said to redeem the code at their website.

I did but they would not allow me to withdraw my winnings until I activated my account and to do that I had to buy more ethereum and put it into my account on their website. They said it was the only way.

I threatened to report them and they didnt believe me so here I am reporting them.

So is OskarBit a legitimate website or is it really a SCAM?

On Google, the only indexed page for this website is the homepage, oskarbit.com.

According to their homepage, Oskarbit is a digital assets exchange that allows users to buy and trade cryptocurrencies safely, quickly, and easily.

The website has a clean and user-friendly layout, with a navigation bar at the top that includes options for logging in, signing up, accessing your account, and exploring markets.

The website also features a section for trading in the real market, including news, buying crypto, and links to the privacy policy, terms of use, and help center.

Additionally, the website has a section for market trends and a bug bounty program.

The website also offers advanced trading options, including spot and margin markets, advanced funding options, and leverage up to 100x.

Overall, Oskarbit seems to be a reliable and user-friendly platform for trading cryptocurrencies.

    But is it really?

    Is OskarBit a scam though?

Contacting OskarBit can be done by submitting a request through their Help Center.

They claim to offer 24/7 customer support, however strangely they do not provide any contact details.

They do have an About page, but it contains no information regarding the company or people behind this website. No company name, registered address, or social media accounts such as a LinkedIn profile are provided.

They only write that the company is an exchange platform for buying, selling, and transferring cryptocurrencies and that they have implemented technologies to protect users’ funds and offer features such as market and limit orders, a convenient order book, and low deposit and withdrawal limits.

We take a look next at their legal documents, but do not find any helpful information there either, besides their disclosing that “Oskarbit.com is currently unregulated.”

And in their Privacy Policy, they do mention their company name: Mek Global Limited.

However, in their User Agreement document, they mention a different company name: Oskarbit.com Finance LLP, which they claim is “a company registered and operating according to the laws of United States.”

In short, while the website seems to be legit, the lack of company and contact information is disconcerting and a big red flag in our opinion.

Moving forward to look for any OskarBit scam reviews, we find no such reviews, but we do find a Reddit thread warning against them which is not based on any real user experience, it seems.

The only review we could find was posted on posted at scamdoc.com on January 9, 2023. It reads:

Avoid using this fraudulent website at all costs! I won some Ethereum from a giveaway hosted by Oskarbit.

They require a deposit to “Activate Account,” which is never required by any Cryptocurrency Exchange!
